HT BENDIX A/S turns 50:
From local tool store to international company
HT BENDIX A/S was founded in 1975 by Kaj Østergaard and colleagues under the name HT Værktøjsmagasin. This year, the company celebrates its 50th anniversary as a supplier of fittings and solutions for the furniture, bathroom, and kitchen industries.
Denmark remains the company’s largest market, closely followed by exports to a wide range of European countries, including Scandinavia, Germany, the UK, Poland, France, Romania, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
In 2023, HT BENDIX A/S completed a planned generational transition, with Kaj Østergaard handing over the role of CEO to Ryan Andsbjerg – only the second CEO in the company’s history. Ryan began his career at the company in the warehouse in 1998 and has since worked his way up through the organization. Together with Sales Director Jan Juncker, who has been with the company since 1997, he now leads HT BENDIX A/S into the future.
In 2019, HT BENDIX A/S became part of the Swedish group Bufab AB, further strengthening the company’s international position. With a product range of over 10,000 items – including handles, hinges, screws, castors, drawer slides, table legs, and wire products – HT BENDIX A/S is a preferred supplier for professionals in the industry..
For five decades, HT BENDIX A/S has maintained a strong focus on product development in close collaboration with its customers. The company acts as a consultative and solution-oriented partner, always centered around customer needs. Technologies such as AutoCAD and 3D printing enable the development and delivery of advanced prototypes tailored to specific customer requirements.
Since 1985, HT BENDIX A/S has supplied pre-packed fitting bags, with contents customized to each customer’s needs. In 2021, the company set a record by packing 13 million bags and boxes – equivalent to 60,000 per day. This extensive experience in packaging and distribution makes HT BENDIX A/S an attractive partner for manufacturers with high accessory demands.
HT BENDIX A/S employs over 75 people at its headquarters in Herning and also has sales offices in Germany and Poland. The company’s strong culture is reflected in numerous employee anniversaries: 27 employees have celebrated 25 years of service, three have reached 40 years, and founder Kaj Østergaard himself has marked 50 years with the company.
