Our ambition is to ensure a socially responsible business by taking responsibility for our development and our impact on people, the environment and society in general.
CO₂-NEUTRAL SEA FREIGHT
Greener Sea Freight
As part of our sustainability strategy, we have partnered with shipping companies to exclusively use vessels powered by biofuel. This makes all our sea freight imports CO₂-neutral.
Facts
- An Eco-ship uses biofuel instead of conventional fuel. Biofuel is CO₂-neutral and thus a sustainable alternative.
- Through a licensing scheme, license holders are guaranteed that the purchase of CO₂-neutral freight corresponds to their total sea freight volume. The CO₂ savings match the freight volume. A CO₂ license can be compared to purchasing green electricity.
- License holders receive documentation showing the total annual CO₂ savings. This documentation is audited by a third party.
SDG 12 & SDG 13
UN Sustainable Development Goals
We support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, with a primary focus on Goal 12 Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 13 Climate Action.
These areas were chosen because we believe they are where we can make the greatest impact.
SBTi
We have joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The overall goal is to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
FSC® Certification
HT BENDIX became FSC certified in 2011. This means we support responsible forest management and the sustainable use of the world’s forests.
We also assist our customers with proper labeling of FSC-certified products.
